Summersweet - sometimes called sweet pepper bush. Native to the Eastern United States this is a dwarf form of this slender shrub. It will spread slowly outward to a spread of 30 inches and reach a hight of 30 inches.
It's true attraction however is the sweet, extremely fragrant flowers on this variety. When you approach this plant in summer the first thing you see is all the insects, mostly butterflies covering the flowers.
The lush green serrated foliage will give way to bright yellow in fall and the seed capsules provide interest throughout the winter.
