Lamb's Ear 'Helen von Stein' (Stachys lanata)
This is native to Northern Turkey, the Southern Caucasus Mountain region and Southern Iran where it grows on rocky hills and scrub areas. In other words, it is a weed. That is one of the reason that in our nursery where we water on a daily schedule, after a few months of struggle it will just fade away unless we stick it into a very dry and sunny corner.
But we did find it to do pretty well in part shade. Water is its enemy. Often herb nurseries are offering this plant and as a general rule must plants with a silver foliage do not like too much water.
