Yellow Flag (Iris pseudacorus)
Perennial growing to in full sun on the waters edge up to 6 ft. The tall fans are an architectural statement. It is in flower from May to July. The scented yellow flowers are pollinated by Bees and hoverflies.
The plant can grow in all soils. It will grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It requires moist or wet soil and can grow in water, where it will come to it's full height, rather stunning. The plant can tolerates strong winds. Habitats and Possible Locations Meadow, Pond, Bog Garden, Woodland, Sunny Edge, Dappled Shade.
