Strawberry-bush is another folk name for this truly beautiful Sept.-Oct. show off. A very obscure plant the rest of the year, in fall it clearly dominates the garden with it's warty purple capsules, that open to display shiny fire red seeds, while the foliage slowly fades to white.
This plant will perform in any woodland or garden soil, full shade to partial sun. Propagates easy from stolons, which are part of the spreading habit or from seed.
