Clematis Viticella 'Betty Corning'
Clematis (KLEM-a-tis) is a member of the Ranunculaceae (buttercup) family. This genus includes approximately 250 species and numerous garden hybrids. There is great variety in flower form, color, bloom season, foliage effect and plant height.
Betty Corning is a charming, moderately fast growing cultivar. During June-September it covers with a mass of pale, lilac-rose, nodding flowers. Spreading tepals, edged in darker blue-purple.
A healthy climber, it has low soil requirements. Free-flowering and sweetly scented variety, excellent for growing over fences, walls, trellises and poles. It can clamber over natural supports e.g. deciduous and coniferous bushes and dwarf shrubs.
