Here is a little bit about us and oyvey!

Gardens oy vey?... Yiddish for Oh! Dear Why?... Cause gardening ain’t easy!

Beavers, voles, drought, heat. Ice storms, tornados, insects. Grass carp, stray dogs and dudes with bulldozers.

These are the predators we battle in our gardens. Gardens oy vey!

Since 1988 we have gardened with man and beast in East Shelby County, near Memphis TN, on our five acres.

We have had many, many successes and delightful years of overwhelming beauty ...and it is the losses we remember so sharply.

With that in mind it is our desire to select and present for you the fruit of our hard earned education and to provide you with informed choices.

We love what we do and we are doing what we love.

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING

We remove all soil prior to shipping to reduce shipping cost and avoid chemical protocols.

With our thoughtful packing method we have had several years of shipments with no complaints.

We hope you will be pleased with us as well.

Most of the plants ship well throughout the year. We have learned the hard way that a few do not.

The List includes:

Most of our Trees and Some Shrubs, all Oak Leaf Hydrangeas, all Arborescens Hydrangeas like 'Annabelle', 'Hayes Starburst',
'White Dome' and sadly also all varieties of Hydrangea Paniculata.

We will ship these plants according to the Best Time for Your Area as we see fit:
Sept. Thru Dec. and Feb. Mar. and in some cases Early April.

We pay close attention to The Plant, The Weather Here and in Your Area. Sadly sometimes this means we have to deny shipping.

We will gladly sell you the plant at Spring or Summer Prices upon payment in Spring or Summer for Fall shipment and let them grow for you at our place.

All Hydrangea Serrata and Hydrangea Macrophylla ship very well all summer.

Plants that are excluded from Summer Shipping will be identified with:
'Order now, Ship in Fall'.

We are a Mom and Pop Nursery with real people working with real plants under complex natural circumstances.
It is our goal to develop a relationship with the client to create the greatest success.

Native Azaleas in Bloom Early to Mid April.

The Hydrangeas should be at their peak Mid May to Early June.

We will as always notify all of our former visitors and friends via email.
